          Realms: "A History"

          Picture
The setting takes place in the "middle ages" of earth in a realm that has seen many scars of war and power.

There are nine realms altogether: Gnir, Gyr, Terranith, Kiren, Resh, Rivensky, Terragon, the dark realm of Esgaroth, and the lost range of Arqdrak.

Now the background of Esgaroth, as printed in the annals of these realms, is a bit vague, but what we do know about it is that it appeared suddenly out of nowhere as if it just grew up like a mountain from the depths of the earth. Now, this range took on peculiarities as it gave off waves of darkness, pulsing from the inner depths as if another power acted through it. Then, darkness struck as Esgaroth took the range of Rivensky; Arkt killed every last surviving force that was able to take his power, or did he? We all know this is not the case, right? So, there was something that remained, but he couldn't place his skeletal hands on it.
Then, there was Arqdrak: the home of the dragon riders. This range is forever lost to the light dwellers as it was eternally emptied of its inhabitants when the Battle of Rivensky arose, and that's all we know of these two ranges...ironically: all the other papers on the annals of these times have been singed, save one; this one is a flame in itself...

Then, as you will come to experience, there are many  many realms (other worlds) to worry with once the Keeper of Keys unlocks the gateway to the realms.

          CHARACTERS
For this book, I created many different races of people and many different languages, as well as realms. You could say that I created a world...very exciting to create a world, wouldn't you think?

There are two races of people I believe you've met before: Dwarves and the Elven.

Then, there are eleven (taken from  both books) I believe you've never had the chance to acquaint yourself with: the Rav, Shilen, Arqyn, Xav, Syfrin, int, Shadowfax, Vaerys, Rethryn, Ryzeian, and one that does not yet have a name to the reader's knowledge.

The Rav, in short, are usually tall-mid height, have black hair, have ears much like the Elven--but much shorter--and are skilled in the art of sword-making. They possess a certain characteristic to mask their true emotions, portraying rock solid eyes and unmoving features.

The Shilen are a slight race; they have begun to dwindle away. These people possess olive toned features, white-silver hair, green eyes and ears that--instead of pointing upward as the Elven's do--point downward at the earlobes in a slight fashion. They are equipped with bow and sword alike, very adept in skill, but are not too fond of water.

The Arqyn have quickly died off, all except for one. This race was very versatile, loved to work with their hands, and most of all: possessed great courage and integrity seeming to run through their DNA. This people's life-source was built around a calling, but blood is very vital to their race as they were called to be dragon riders. Arqyn can appear to have any color hair, vividly lucid eyes, and very expressive features. One characteristic that makes an Arqyn distinguishable is their one pointed ear.

Xav are Elves that have been manipulated by the dark armies of Nyros. These have no purpose other than to fight. They are also huge beasts, and terribly frightening to behold. An ancient manuscript once said that their eyes glow black, almost as if one were to peer into a black hole--no light at all coming form their souls.

Syfrin are the main group of Nyros-dwellers. They are taken from every race of people and manipulated into an army of common creatures. They are brainwashed, so to speak, and their duty is inculcated into them by the dark lord Arkt.

Ints are shadow creatures, who are sometimes referred to as "minor Syfrin." The int is one of the most fascinating creatures as it can resonate between visible and invisible. It haunts and torments, even to the point of killing someone if they get the chance. This race is the interface between a genuine race of people (such as a Rav) and the Syfrin.

Shadowfax is a very strange race. From another dimension altogether, this people are not fully detailed by any first-hand sources. All that is known about them is their cloaked figures and hooded dispositions.

Vaerys are shape shifters. But, in this case, all you need to know that their manipulated versions are called Verryl. Beware of the Verryl's easy-going disposition, for they are indescribably dangerous to one of their prey. Look to the ground to see which way their shadows point--if away from the sun, you have found an ally; if the shadow casts toward its light source, then be wary of where your sword is at all times.

Rethryn are the elemental creatures, very much in tune with nature and its ways.

Ryzeian are white creatures who never fail to err on the side of power. In this case, they join with lord Arkt to lure Airsing into death's grip.On the note of lord Arkt, he has an ethnicity that is not relevant at this point...or is it?

          PROFILES
Airsing...what a good place to start! Airsing is the Sky Aconian Rider, of Arqyn blood. He has handsome features with almost lurid azure eyes. You'll get to find out more about him later. Quite a rare being he is.

And Syocer of course...the Sky Aconian. Syocer has white scales, sometimes fluctuating by the gleam of the sun. She possesses four wings: two in front and two in back. These reflect the sky as they are clear upon first glance. She is as quick as a horse and can fly faster than the wind...and no, this is not just an expression.

Xavier, ah yes. This is one of my favorite characters...he is the main character right along with Airsing, giving you a different take on what's happening in the book. He is originally of Shilen blood, but he is taken to Nyros. He is manipulated into a shadow, or an int, as his Shilen background disappears, leaving his white hair black with silvering threads, and takes his green eyes into an ember-red, as he draws near his fate.

I fear we have run out of page . . . what is a one to do? I guess you'll have to take a look at the book.
